
Cancer Grand Challenge: Cancer Avoidance
This Cancer Grand Challenge aims to uncover the biological mechanisms that allow certain high-risk individuals and extremely aged populations to avoid developing cancer. Despite having significant genetic or environmental risk factors, these individuals remain cancer-free, offering a unique opportunity to explore innate resistance and cancer prevention pathways.
Eligibility Criteria:

Open to global, interdisciplinary research teams

Must include experts in fields such as genomics, immunology, ageing, metabolism, epidemiology, and AI
-
Collaborative proposals with long-term data cohorts and novel mechanistic approaches are encouraged
Funding Details:

Up to GBP 20 million (approx. USD 25 million) per team

Supports high-impact, multi-year research
