
ASTRO-BCRF Emerging Investigator Award
This joint award by ASTRO and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) aims to foster the career development of early-stage investigators in breast radiation oncology research. Applicants must dedicate at least 20% of their career responsibilities to the research project and associated training plan. The grant is intended to support promising research and structured career development.
Eligibility:

Must be an early-stage investigator (per NIH definition) with a PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent terminal degree

Minimum of 20% effort committed to the project

Must be affiliated with a U.S.-based nonprofit or academic research institution
-
Residents, postdocs, or other trainees are generally not eligible
Funding:

Up to USD 100,000 for one year

No indirect costs covered
-
Up to 20% of the budget should support the applicant’s career development or training
-
One no-cost extension may be granted (total period cannot exceed two years)
