Sandra D'Angelo, MD

Medical oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, dedicated to advancing immunotherapy for the treatment of sarcoma. Her work focuses on evaluating the efficacy of emerging immunotherapeutic approaches and identifying biomarkers that predict patient response in these rare tumors, in close collaboration with basic scientists, cooperative research groups, and industry partners.

At MSK, she leads a sarcoma-focused translational research program in immunotherapy, where she systematically investigates innovative combination strategies, including, but not limited to, checkpoint inhibitors and adoptive T-cell therapies.

He trained at The University of Hong Kong, graduated with distinction in surgery, and further specialized in drug development through a fellowship at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, focusing on experimental therapeutics. His clinical and academic work centers on thoracic oncology and sarcoma, with a particular emphasis on early-phase trials and innovative treatment strategies.

He is a Fellow of American Society of Clinical Oncology (FASCO, 2024) and recipient of multiple international awards. He co-founded regional initiatives such as APODDC and APCLC, and has held leadership roles within ASCO, International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, and CTOS, contributing to global oncology collaboration, policy development, and advancement of clinical research.

Javier Martín-Broto

Founder Member of The Spanish Group for Research on Sarcomas (GEIS) in 1994 and member of the executive committee of GEIS since 1994 (He was GEIS Chairman from 2010 to 2018) to 2022. He obtained PhD degree in Molecular Biology in 2010 focusing on molecular prognostic biomarkers in GIST. Currently, he coordinates clinical sarcoma assistance with translational research, leading a basic research team in the lab in Fundación Jimenez Diaz University Hospital, in Madrid. He leads the Sarcoma Latin-American & European Sarcoma Network (SELNET) consortium. Additionally, he’s running and designing several trials on sarcoma patients, some of them as the coordinator at national and international levels. He is the author/co-author of more than 400 publications on sarcoma.
Robin Jones

Robin Jones

Medical oncologist specialising in the treatment of bone and soft tissue sarcomas and Head of the Sarcoma Unit at The Royal Marsden. He has experience in conducting Phase I, II and III trials, as well translational studies in sarcomas. Professor Jones trained in medical oncology at The Royal Marsden and between 2010 and 2014 he was Head of the Sarcoma Program at the University of Washington/Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. His main research interest focuses on clinical trials and translational research in sarcomas.
