The World Radiotherapy Awareness Day (WRAD) 2026 will be observed globally on 7 September 2026, bringing together the international radiotherapy community under the theme “One Voice for Radiotherapy.”

Coordinated by the World Radiotherapy Awareness Day initiative, led by co-chairs Sandra Turner and Katie Wakeham, the campaign aims to raise awareness of radiotherapy as an essential cancer treatment, advocate for equitable access worldwide, and highlight the importance of a skilled multidisciplinary radiotherapy workforce.

WRAD encourages healthcare professionals, cancer centres, patient advocates, professional societies, policymakers, and communities to organize awareness campaigns, educational activities, webinars, open days, and local events. Its objectives include improving understanding of radiotherapy’s role in curing cancer, relieving symptoms, and improving quality of life, while drawing attention to global disparities in infrastructure, workforce capacity, investment, and access to safe and effective treatment.
