The 2026 World Indigenous Cancer Conference (W.I.C.C. 2026) is being hosted by the World Indigenous Cancer Network and Hei Āhuru Mōwai Māori (Cancer Leadership Aotearoa). The conference will be held from April 20 to 24, 2026, in Rotorua, Aotearoa New Zealand, at the Energy Events Centre.
The event is designed to be a gathering for over 600 researchers, clinicians, whānau (family), rangatahi (youth), and advocates to share and exchange indigenous culture, knowledge, lived experiences, practice, research, networks, and new perspectives. The core objective is to improve cancer prevention, treatment, and outcomes for Indigenous peoples globally, guided by the Māori proverb: “With discussion comes knowledge, with knowledge comes understanding, with understanding comes wisdom, with wisdom comes well-being.”
