The World Cancer Research Day International Event will take place on September 23, 2026, in Brussels, Belgium, with online participation available.

The event marks the 10th anniversary of World Cancer Research Day (WCRD) and will be held under the theme “Advancing Cancer Research Together.”

Co-organized by EORTC and the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), the international public event will bring together leading voices in cancer research to discuss current challenges, opportunities, and the future of cancer research, while highlighting the importance of placing patients at the center of research.

The event is organized under the presidency of Her Majesty Queen Letizia of Spain, honorary president of AECC and its Scientific Foundation, and in the presence of HRH Princess Dina Mired of Jordan, Honorary President of EORTC.

The program will include presentations on World Cancer Research Day, academic clinical trials, and international cancer research, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A featuring researchers, clinicians, patient advocates, and representatives of cancer organizations. Speakers include Denis Lacombe, Benjamin Besse, Ramon Reyes, Erik Briers, Jens Lehmann, Jean-Pascal Machiels, Susana Rives Sola, Marta Puyol, and others. The event will also be available live on YouTube.
