The Level 1 Basics in Liver Surgery course, organized by the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO), will take place on 19–20 November 2026 at Broadgreen Kent Lodge in Liverpool, United Kingdom.

This two-day programme will combine expert lectures with hands-on training in liver anatomy, diagnostic imaging, preoperative planning, intraoperative ultrasound, liver resection techniques, and complication management. Practical sessions will use virtual planning tools, models, simulators, and animal liver, alongside video-based learning and multidisciplinary case discussions. The course is intended for surgical residents, general surgeons, and early-career specialists interested in hepatobiliary surgery.
