The 70th Regular Session of the IAEA General Conference, organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), will take place on September 14–18, 2026, at the Vienna International Centre (VIC) in Vienna, Austria.

The annual meeting will bring together high-ranking officials and representatives from IAEA Member States to consider a broad range of issues related to the peaceful, safe, and secure use of nuclear science and technology.

The 2026 session marks the 70th consecutive annual meeting of IAEA Member States, representing a milestone in the Agency’s history since its establishment in 1957. While the General Conference is broader than oncology, it is relevant to the cancer community because the IAEA’s work includes radiation medicine, radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, cancer control, and initiatives to expand access to cancer diagnosis and treatment worldwide.
