The ESSO – Technical Aspects of Lymph Node Dissection in Gastric Cancer Surgery webinar will take place on October 22, 2026, online.

Organized by the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) Upper GI Working Group, the webinar will focus on current approaches to lymph node dissection in gastric cancer surgery and the evolving role of extended lymphadenectomy.

The session will provide a practical overview of the principles and indications of lymph node dissection, including approaches beyond D2 lymphadenectomy. Discussions will address the key questions of where, when, how, in whom, and by whom extended lymph node dissection should be performed.

The programme will feature perspectives from European and Japanese experts, including discussion of the complete mesogastric excision approach and approaches beyond D2 lymph node dissection.
