Dec 11 • 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Friday Satellite Symposium

The ASH – Friday Satellite Symposium: A Hematologist’s Guide to the Sickle Cell Disease Revolution: Genes, Activators, and Beyond will take place on December 11, 2026, at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (MCCNO) in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.

The symposium is part of the 2026 ASH Friday Satellite Symposia, which are industry-supported, CME-accredited educational sessions held the day before the ASH Annual Meeting. ASH notes that these symposia are separate from the official ASH Annual Meeting programme and are planned by the organizing company.

This live 90-minute symposium will focus on the rapidly evolving treatment landscape for sickle cell disease (SCD). The programme will examine clinically relevant differences among approved and emerging gene therapies, as well as current evidence surrounding pyruvate kinase (PK) activators and their potential integration into clinical practice.

Through case-based discussions and interaction with expert faculty, the session will address how clinicians can match emerging treatment approaches to individual patient profiles and facilitate timely referrals to qualified treatment centres.
