The ELPIDA Foundation for Children with Cancer and Leukemia

The ELPIDA Foundation for Children with Cancer and Leukemia will hold its Mount Olympus 2026 initiative from September 2–6, 2026, in Greece, continuing the solidarity campaign that began with the 2024 Marathon of Hope & Love.
Five Cypriot marathon runners and mountaineers — Professor Loizos G. Loizou, Elena Lena, Elina Ioannou, Andreas Antoniou, and Savvas Adamou – will take on a demanding route toward Mytikas, the highest peak of Mount Olympus at approximately 2,918 metres, carrying a message of courage, perseverance, solidarity, and hope for children and adolescents with cancer.
The initiative also highlights ELPIDA’s international work through the Cyprus International Action Plan for Children and Adolescents with Cancer, supporting efforts to improve access to diagnosis, essential medicines, and effective treatment, particularly in countries where cancer care remains difficult to access. The final ascent to Mytikas will depend on weather, mountain conditions, and participant safety.
