The 2nd National Day Against Cancer in Older Adults

The 2nd National Day Against Cancer in Older Adults (Journée Nationale Contre les Cancers des Seniors), organized by the Société Francophone d’Onco-Gériatrie (SOFOG), will culminate in a national conference on 9 October 2026 at the Palais Bourbon in Paris, France.
The event will bring together oncology and geriatrics specialists, institutions, patient organizations, patients, and caregivers to address key challenges at the intersection of cancer and aging, including early detection, equitable access to innovation, shared decision-making, and the patient–healthcare professional relationship.
The programme will feature expert discussions on tailoring oncogeriatric care to older patients, a research session on defining appropriate treatment strategies, and patient and caregiver perspectives on living with cancer. The conference will run from 1:00 PM to 5:15 PM, followed by press exchanges and a closing reception, while regional initiatives across France will extend the campaign beyond the national meeting.
