Solange Peters is an internationally renowned expert in thoracic oncology and a key leader in European and global oncology, having served as President of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) from 2020–2022, the youngest president in the society’s history, and as founder of ESMO Women for Oncology. She has also held leadership roles within IASLC and the European Thoracic Oncology Platform.
A full Professor and Chair of Medical Oncology at the University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV), Switzerland, she leads the Thoracic Malignancies Program, where she is building a translational program in collaboration with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and the Ludwig Institute. She serves as Associate Editor of Annals of Oncology, Deputy Editor of Lung Cancer, and has held long-standing editorial roles across major oncology journals.
