Samir N. Khleif is Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Georgiamune, a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing first-in-class immunotherapies to reprogram immune signaling pathways for cancer and autoimmune diseases. Under his leadership, Georgiamune advanced multiple novel drug candidates into early clinical trials and completed a $75 million Series A financing, positioning the company at the forefront of immune-oncology innovation. The company’s strategic collaborations integrate advanced immune profiling and real-world evidence into drug development, aiming to overcome resistance to existing immunotherapies.
Dr. Khleif is a pioneer in immunotherapy, combining roles as a medical oncologist, immunologist, and innovator. Previously, he led the National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Vaccine Section, directing early clinical trials and immune-oncology research, and served as Special Assistant to the Commissioner of the FDA, guiding oncology regulatory initiatives. He was founding Director and CEO of King Hussein Cancer Center in Jordan, developing it into the largest cancer center in the MENA region, and directed the Georgia Cancer Center at Augusta University. He is a professor at Georgetown University Medical School and has authored hundreds of peer-reviewed publications, holding more than 150 issued or pending patents in immunology and immunotherapy.
