Miyo Yamashita is President and Chief Executive Officer of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, Canada’s largest cancer charity and the primary fundraising organization for Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, one of the world’s leading comprehensive cancer research and treatment institutions. As CEO, she leads the Foundation’s strategy to mobilize philanthropic investment in cancer research, precision medicine, and patient-centered innovation, supporting a cancer center internationally recognized for advances in immunotherapy, genomics, and radiation medicine. Under her leadership, the Foundation has focused on building sustainable funding models that accelerate translation of discovery science into clinical impact.
Yamashita brings more than two decades of executive leadership experience across healthcare, professional services, technology, and financial services. She has served as Director of Strategy and Operations at the University of Toronto’s Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society, bridging research, policy, and large-scale institutional change. Yamashita has been recognized multiple times by the Women’s Executive Network as one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women for her impact in leadership and innovation.
