Michael Sapienza Recognized Among The 100 Most Influential CEOs in Oncology in 2025

Michael Sapienza is Chief Executive Officer of the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, the largest colon and rectal cancer advocacy organization in the U.S. He founded The Chris4Life Colon Cancer Foundation and led its 2016 merger with the Colon Cancer Alliance, creating a unified national nonprofit. Michael spearheads Project Cure CRC, driving the Alliance’s $100 million commitment to innovative colorectal cancer research and improving patient outcomes through initiatives such as BlueHQ.org.

He has led high-profile awareness campaigns, including the “Lead From Behind” partnership with Ryan Reynolds, and serves on the Ruesch Center Advisory Board at Georgetown University, the President’s Cancer Panel, and NCCRT Steering Committee. Recognized nationally, he has received the David Jagelman Award, the Public Service Award from the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, the Champion Award from Preventing Colorectal Cancer.
