Under his leadership, Pelotonia has raised over $300 million annually, directly supporting hundreds of research projects at institutions including Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center and partnering hospitals. He has overseen the growth of the annual Pelotonia cycling event to engage tens of thousands of participants nationwide, making it one of the largest single-cause fundraising events in the U.S.
Apgar has implemented data-driven grant allocation processes that prioritize high-impact research and accelerated the translation of lab discoveries into clinical trials. He has strengthened strategic collaborations with academic and community-based cancer centers and increased donor retention and engagement through targeted outreach programs. Prior to Pelotonia, he held leadership roles in nonprofit management and business development, building high-impact programs and partnerships.
