Her Royal Highness Princess Ghida Talal of Jordan is a leading global advocate in the fight against cancer and serves as Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) in Amman. Under her leadership since 2001, KHCC has been transformed into a regional center of excellence, delivering world-class cancer care and standing among the most advanced oncology institutions globally. Princess Ghida’s commitment to cancer advocacy is deeply personal. Following her marriage she faced cancer firsthand when her husband was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. This experience shaped her lifelong dedication to improving cancer care, reducing stigma, and supporting patients and families across Jordan and the Arab world.
She established the King Hussein Award for Cancer Research, oversaw national screening programs including the Jordan Breast Cancer Program, and has been a leading global advocate for equitable cancer control, representing the region at UN High-Level Meetings and global NCD forums. Today, Princess Ghida is recognized internationally as a powerful voice for cancer control, patient-centered care, and health system development in the Middle East, with advocacy efforts that continue to shape regional and global oncology collaboration.
