HRH Princess Dina Mired Recognized Among The 100 Most Influential People in Oncology in 2025

Her Royal Highness Princess Dina Mired of Jordan is a globally recognized leader in cancer control and non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and one of the most influential voices advancing equity in global health. She has been intrumental in transforming cancer care in Jordan through more than fifteen years of leadership at the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, helping it to rise into an internationally respected institution and a model for sustainable cancer systems in the region.

Princess Dina made history as the first Arab and first non-medical professional to serve as President of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), bringing a patient- and family-centered perspective to global cancer policy. Her leadership bridges national implementation and global advocacy, grounded in lived experience as the mother of a cancer survivor. She serves as Patron of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP) and is a Past President of the EORTC. At the United Nations, Princess Dina has played a landmark role in shaping the global NCD agenda.

She also served as Honorary Chair and founding leader of the Jordan Breast Cancer Program (2006–2016), advancing early detection and screening for women nationwide. Her contributions have been widely recognized, including the Centenary Medal from His Majesty King Abdullah II (2022), the WHO World No Tobacco Day Award (2021), the IARC Medal of Honour (2015). Today she continues her advocacy and leadership towards fair and quality cancer care. In 2025, she launched Global Health Dialogues with Princess Dina in OncoDaily welcoming healthcare leaders and changemakers to conversations that drive the focus of global oncology today.
