Carlos Rodriguez-Galindo is a pediatric oncologist and global health leader serving as Executive Vice President, Chair of the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine, and Director of St. Jude Global at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where he holds the Four Stars of Chicago Endowed Chair in International Pediatric Outreach.
Under his leadership, St. Jude Global has grown into a major international platform working with hospitals, governments, and the World Health Organization, including as a key partner in the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer. He has helped build regional centers of excellence, global training programs, and collaborative research networks that underpin the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer.
Rodriguez-Galindo is internationally recognized for advancing global pediatric oncology through sustainable, system-level approaches, leading worldwide efforts to expand access to childhood cancer care in more than 60 countries. Galindo’s areas of clinical research and expertise include retinoblastoma, sarcomas, rare cancers, and histiocytic disorders. He has been the chair of the Rare Tumors committee of the Children’s Oncology Group and the President of the Histiocyte Society, and has been the principal investigator of several institutional, national, and international trials.
