Andrew Spiegel Recognized Among The 100 Most Influential CEOs in Oncology in 2025

Andrew Spiegel is co-founder and executive director of the Global Colon Cancer Association (GCCA), an international coalition uniting colorectal cancer patient advocacy organizations, healthcare institutions, and stakeholders to address disparities in screening, diagnosis, treatment, and care worldwide. He co-founded GCCA in 2011 to create a global community that amplifies patient voices and drives collaborative advocacy efforts against the third leading cause of cancer deaths globally. Under his leadership, the association has expanded its network to include member organizations across dozens of countries, promoting equitable access to quality care and policy engagement on colorectal cancer issues.

Spiegel’s work in patient advocacy began after personal losses to cancer and led him to co-found the Colorectal Cancer Alliance (formerly Colon Cancer Alliance) in the United States, where he served as CEO and helped build it into the leading national advocacy organization focused on colorectal cancer. He has held senior roles across the advocacy and health policy ecosystem, including on the boards of the International Alliance of Patient Organizations and the Digestive Disease National Coalition, and as a co-founder and steering committee member of the Alliance for Safe Biologic Medicines. His contributions have been recognized with awards such as the David Jagelman Award for Patient Advocacy and the C-Change Together Hidden Hero Award.
