C. S. Pramesh is Director of Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, and Professor and Head of Thoracic Surgery at the Tata Memorial Centre. A leading figure in global cancer care, he has served on the UICC Board of Directors since 2020 and is the Convener of the National Cancer Grid (NCG), a nationwide network of more than 300 cancer centres working to establish uniform, evidence-based standards of cancer care across India.
Dr. Pramesh is internationally recognized for his commitment to reducing inequities in cancer care and improving access to high-quality treatment across diverse geographic and socioeconomic settings. He is the recipient of the Rachel Pearline Global Cancer Research Humanitarian Award from the U.S. National Cancer Institute. He also serves as Visiting Professor at King’s College London, the Institute of Cancer Policy, King’s Health Partners, and the National Cancer Center Graduate School of Cancer Science and Policy in Korea.
He is a leading voice in health services research, value-based care, cancer policy, and access to care, deeply invested in building research capacity and regularly leads courses in clinical research methodology, biostatistics, and scientific writing, contributing to the next generation of oncology researchers and policy leaders.
