Adam brings deep expertise in translational oncology and a valuable perspective shaped by leadership roles at Dana-Farber, Columbia, and most recently as Global Head of Oncology Translational Research at Novartis. His return to academia marks an exciting moment for our field.”
Quoting Adam Bass’s post:
“This week, I am joining the faculty of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a physician-scientist. I’m grateful for this opportunity and for the recent privilege of working at Novartis. I’ve learned a great deal from many wonderful colleagues and look forward to bringing those insights with me as I return to academia.
Despite all we’ve learned – and the remarkable new therapies and modalities now in hand – there is still a long way to go, especially in gastrointestinal cancers. Today we have amazing tools to not only interrogate biology at incredible resolution, but to do so while keeping our eyes on the fundamental problems we need to solve for patients. The opportunities at the intersection of innovative science, clinical investigation, and patient care are greater than ever. Still, the core challenges – especially resistance – remain formidable.
Fortunately, this is a team sport, and I’m lucky to be joining a great team. It’s hard to imagine a better place than MSK to identify the problems that matter most, define the key questions, and work together to move forward. Let’s see where the journey goes…”
