Vinayak Venkataraman, Director of Sarcoma Pathways, Sarcoma Champion, Adult Survivorship Program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, shared on LinkedIn:
“I am thrilled to share that I will be starting a new position at Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute!
I will be joining the Sarcoma Oncology Program, where I will continue to care for adults and young adults with bone and soft tissue cancers and work with a world-class team of surgeons, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, medical/surgical specialists, and researchers across Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Harvard Medical School.
I will also serve in a new leadership role as the Adult Medical Oncology Director of the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Program at Mass General Brigham.
In this role, I am excited to work with an amazing leadership team in Danielle Brette Cameron, Annah Abrams and Giselle Perez as we strive to ensure every AYA with cancer has access to the best longitudinal, multidisciplinary care, research, and outcomes across the largest integrated health system in New England.
I am excited to come back home to Mass General – where my life in Boston started almost a decade ago as a Med-Peds resident – and join forces with sarcoma friends/mentors/life coaches Edwin Choy and Gregory Cote, and reconnect with hundreds of longtime friends across MGH and MGB for Children.
I am also grateful to continue working with close sarcoma colleagues and friends at Brigham & Women’s, including Chandrajit Raut, Elizabeth Lilley, Kevin Liu, Miranda Lam, Mark Fairweather, Hesham Elhalawani, Jiping Wang, John Ready, David Papke, Elizabeth Baldini, Paul Shyn, Jyothi Jagannathan, Jason Hornick, Fatima Wilder, and many more.
I am thankful for my time working at Dana-Farber and for the amazing people I had the privilege of working with every day. I am also grateful for the hundreds of patients and families who entrusted me to guide, support, and care for them through their most challenging moments, and for the lifelong relationships and friendships that developed in time.
Thank you to Becca Heist, David Ryan, and the MGBCI leadership team for investing in sarcoma and AYA cancer care and providing me this incredible opportunity to make impact at MGB and beyond. I am excited to get started!
