Triparna Sen: Honored to Be the Max Morehouse Endowed Chair in Cancer Research, the Ohio State University

Triparna Sen, Professor and the Max Morehouse Endowed Chair in Cancer Research at The Ohio State University, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I am deeply honored to be named the Max Morehouse Endowed Chair in Cancer Research at The Ohio State University.

This endowed position recognizes and supports nationally eminent faculty advancing cancer research at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. To be counted among this community of leaders is both humbling and profoundly motivating.

Just 14 years after my PhD, this milestone is a powerful reminder of what becomes possible when scientists are supported, challenged, and championed. I am deeply grateful to my family, whose belief never wavered; my mentors, who opened doors and set the highest standards; and an exceptional team whose curiosity, rigor, and commitment drive everything we do.

This recognition is a fuel to ask harder questions, accelerate discoveries in lung cancer, and translate science into better care and outcomes for patients.

I am more committed than ever to the work ahead.”

Jim Baranski, Executive Director at Lung Cancer Foundation of America, congratulated her on this occasion in his post:

“Congratulations to LCFA-funded early-career researcher Triparna Sen on being appointed to The Max Morehouse Chair in Cancer Research at The Ohio State University.

This endowed faculty position, established in 2000 through a gift from the estate of Martha Morehouse, supports a nationally eminent faculty member dedicated to advancing the study and treatment of cancer within OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center and James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.

Dr. Sen’s LCFA-funded research focuses on small cell lung cancer, an aggressive form of lung cancer where progress has been urgently needed. Her work is helping advance understanding of treatment resistance and identify new therapeutic strategies that may improve outcomes for patients facing this difficult diagnosis.

Dr. Sen’s appointment places her among distinguished cancer research leaders, including current and past chairholders Dr. Arnab Chakravarti and Dr. Rebecca Jackson. It is a powerful recognition of the promise and impact of her work — and a reminder of why investing in early-career scientists is so essential to the future of lung cancer research.

At LCFA, we believe transformative science begins with bold ideas and the researchers who pursue them. We are proud to celebrate Dr. Sen’s well-deserved honor and look forward to seeing how her leadership continues to help move the field forward for patients and families.

Congratulations, Dr. Sen!”
