Toufic Kachaamy: A Journey of Growth – 12 Years in GI Oncology
Toufic Kachaamy, Chief of Medicine and Director of Gastroenterology at City of Hope, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“12 Years Ago, I Took a Leap…
Today marks 12 years since I stepped into my current job taking care of GI patients in a comprehensive cancer center fresh from fellowship, full of passion, and eager to serve.
I never imagined how deeply this journey would shape me clinically, professionally, and personally. From starting a new therapeutic endoscopy program to helping build a national presence in interventional oncology, the past 12 years have been nothing short of transformative.
But I didn’t walk this path alone.
To my family: your sacrifices, patience, and love made every long day possible. You are the reason I strive for meaning and balance.
To my work family: thank you for believing in bold ideas, embracing innovation, and always putting patients first. You’ve been my teachers, teammates, and champions.
To my patients: words are not enough to describe my gratitude. you’ve taught me more than I can ever give back. Your strength, stories, and hope fuel my calling every single day.
To our executives and partners: thank you for opening doors and investing in growth. Your support helped turn early aspirations into national impact.
I remain deeply grateful for every challenge, every breakthrough, and every hand that lifted me along the way.
Here’s to continuing the work with humility, curiosity, and purpose. Here is to making a difference and to growing each and everyday.”
