Ronald Chen has been Selected as Chair of the Kansas Cancer Partnership

Ronald Chen, Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Kansas Medical Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Did you know every state has a cancer plan?

I’m honored to be selected as Chair of the Kansas Cancer Partnership, where I’ll help lead the process of creating the Kansas Cancer Plan.

Each year, approximately 15,000 cases of invasive cancers are diagnosed among residents in Kansas.

And it’s our goal to reduce the burden and suffering for patients and their families, while also enhancing their quality of life.

Through the Kansas Cancer Partnership, organizations work together and strive to reduce the incidence and mortality rates through a comprehensive approach.

Our plan will focus on prevention, early detection, cancer survivorship, financial burden, health equity, advocacy and policy.

And we lean into evidence-based practices to guide our plan so that it can have the biggest impact for our state.

I’m honored to work with other partners across the state of Kansas to continue identifying and implementing new strategies around cancer screening, treatment and outcomes.”
