“The Hudson College of Public Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Mulugeta Gebregziabher as the new Endowed Chair of the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology.
As Chair, Dr. Gebregziabher will lead the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology in expanding research excellence, fostering collaboration and preparing future public health leaders to address complex health challenges.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Gebregziabher to the Hudson College of Public Health,”
said Dean Dale Bratzler.
“His expertise in biostatistics, epidemiology, data science and public health leadership will further strengthen our department and advance our mission to improve health through research, education and service.”
To which, Mulugeta Gebregziabher, Professor and Department Chair at the University of Oklahoma, added:
“After 20 rewarding and fulfilling years at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and over 17 years at the HERO Innovation Center (HEROIC) of the Ralph H Jhonson VAMC, I am writing to share that I will be transitioning to a new leadership opportunity.
I am pleased to share that I will be joining the University of Oklahoma OU Hudson College of Public Health as the Endowed Chair of the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology. I’m excited about this new opportunity of joining a vibrant department and honored to take on this role and look forward to advancing the college’s mission in public health education, research, and leadership.
It has been a profound privilege to serve at MUSC and RHJVA. Over the past two decades, I have had the opportunity to train and mentor talented students, conduct impactful and meaningful research, and contribute to the institution through leadership roles at different levels. I am deeply grateful for the support, collaboration, and commitment to excellence that defines my colleagues and collaborators.
As I reflect on my time at MUSC, I am sincerely grateful for the career I have built, and the many meaningful connections and friendships established along the way.
I would like to thank my colleagues, mentors and mentees for your partnership, collaboration, and support over the years. Always grateful for the unwavering support of my family!!
