Moffitt Cancer Center Appoints New Section Heads Across Gastrointestinal Oncology 2026

Moffitt Cancer Center has announced a new group of Section Heads across its Gastrointestinal Oncology Program, highlighting continued investment in disease-focused leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, and innovation in cancer care.

The appointments bring together experts across colorectal, neuroendocrine, pancreatic, hepatobiliary, gastric, esophageal, and peritoneal malignancies, reinforcing Moffitt’s role as a leading center for gastrointestinal cancer research and treatment.

Tiago Biachi – Section Head for Colorectal Cancer

Dr. Tiago Biachi de Castria is an Associate Member in the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. His clinical and research interests focus on colorectal and hepatobiliary cancers, particularly biomarkers and drug development. Originally trained in Brazil, he completed advanced gastrointestinal oncology fellowship training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Biachi has also served in academic leadership roles at the University of São Paulo and has extensive experience in gastrointestinal oncology clinical research.

Jonathan Strosberg – Section Head for Neuroendocrine Tumors

Dr. Jonathan Strosberg is a Professor at Moffitt Cancer Center and internationally recognized expert in neuroendocrine malignancies. He leads Moffitt’s Neuroendocrine Tumor Division and Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology Research Program. A graduate of Harvard University and Cornell University Medical College, Dr. Strosberg has authored more than 150 publications, including studies in the National Cancer Institute portfolio and major oncology journals. Dae Won Kim – Section Head for Pancreatic Cancer

Dr. Dae Won Kim specializes in gastrointestinal malignancies with a strong focus on immunotherapy approaches. He earned his medical degree from Inha University School of Medicine in South Korea and completed fellowship training at both MD Anderson Cancer Center and Moffitt Cancer Center.
