Kate Watt, Chief Development Officer at Colorectal Cancer Alliance, shared on LinkedIn:
” A new chapter, a new mission and yes, a new color.
Today I’m proud to begin my role as Chief Development Officer at Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
I have spent my career believing in the power of philanthropy to create change. I’m excited to bring that passion to an organization with a bold vision to end colorectal cancer in our lifetime.
This mission is also personal for me. My family has been directly impacted by colon cancer. Both my mom and my father-in-law are survivors. I know firsthand what a diagnosis can mean for a family and the difference early detection, access to care and research can make.
I’m especially energized by what lies ahead. From expanding prevention and patient support to Project Cure CRC, the Alliance’s $100 million effort to accelerate lifesaving science and bring new treatments to patients faster, there is an incredible opportunity to think bigger about what is possible.
I’m also incredibly excited to work alongside such a passionate team led by Michael Sapienza, coupled with an exceptional group of fundraisers and nonprofit professionals who believe deeply in impacting outcomes from colorectal cancer.
I’m looking forward to learning from them and working together with our Board, donors, partners, advocates and most importantly the patients and families at the heart of this work.
And I want to hear from you.
- If colorectal cancer has touched your life
- if you want to invest in research that can change outcomes
- if you see an opportunity to partner with us, reach out.
- if you want to connect your business to these lifesaving goals.
There is a place for you in this mission.
We have an ambitious goal to end colorectal cancer in our lifetime. I’m ready to help build the resources, relationships and momentum to get us there.
After many years of pink, I’m proud to be wearing blue.”
