International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS) shared a post on X:
“We’re proud to announce that Dr. Jonathan Ledermann, has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 IGCS Lifetime Achievement Award!
With a career spanning over 30 years, Dr. Ledermann has contributed to the transformation of gynecologic cancer care through his leadership in clinical research, patient care, and global collaboration. His work has led to new treatment approaches for ovarian and cervical cancers, improving outcomes for women around the world. A notable area has been the development of maintenance therapies with PARP inhibitors for homologous recombination deficient (HRD) ovarian cancer.
As a founding member of ENGOT, former Director of the Cancer Research UK & UCL Cancer Trials Centre, and a Senior Investigator for the NIHR, Dr. Ledermann has helped shape global research agendas and clinical guidelines. He served as subject editor for the ESMO Gynaecological Cancer Practice Guidelines and he has authored over 320 publications.
Dr. Ledermann’s achievements highlight the role that medical oncology plays in the multidisciplinary care of gynecologic cancers—from developing life-extending therapies to leading research that changes practice worldwide.
