Jeff Legos, Chief Oncology Officer at Pfizer, shared on LinkedIn:
“I’m incredibly excited to welcome Arif Kamal as Pfizer’s new Chief Oncology Medical Officer.
Arif is a physician, scientist and nationally recognized leader who has dedicated his career to improving outcomes for people living with cancer.
Whether as the inaugural Chief Patient Officer at the American Cancer Society or as a practicing oncologist and palliative care physician, he has consistently focused on what matters most: patients and caregivers.
I’ve had the opportunity to get to know Arif recently, and what stands out most is his authenticity.
He brings a clear vision for the future of cancer care and a deep commitment to keeping patients at the center of every decision.
I’m excited about the perspective and leadership he will bring to Pfizer Oncology.
I also want to recognize and thank Karin Tollefson, who will retire from Pfizer next year after a remarkable career in biopharmaceuticals.
Karin has helped shape Oncology Medical Affairs at Pfizer and has been a tireless advocate for patients throughout her career.
She has also been an incredible colleague and mentor to many across our organization, and her impact will be felt for years to come.

Karin Tollefson
I’m looking forward to seeing the impact Arif will have in his new role as we continue advancing our mission for patients.”
