Hadi Mohamad Abu Rasheed, Scientific advisor and Director of Programs at Qatar Cancer Society, shared on LinkedIn:
“Some professional roles are not new – they simply deserve to be documented.
I am pleased to finally add to my LinkedIn Experience a role that I have had the privilege of serving in since 2018: Member of Qatar’s National Cancer Governance Board.
Over more than eight years, this role has given me the opportunity to contribute to Qatar’s evolving national cancer-control journey, alongside colleagues from the Ministry of Public Health, healthcare institutions, academia, and other national stakeholders.
This journey has spanned important phases in Qatar’s cancer-control development, from the National Cancer Framework 2017-2022 to the Qatar Cancer Plan 2023-2026, with an increasing emphasis on integrated, high-quality and person-centered cancer care.
My areas of particular interest include meaningful patient engagement, prevention and early detection, quality of care, holistic and psychosocial support, survivorship, equity, research, and the implementation of national cancer-control priorities.
After serving in this role since 2018, I felt it was important to formally reflect this significant part of my professional journey on LinkedIn.
I remain grateful for the opportunity to contribute to Qatar’s continuing efforts to strengthen cancer prevention, care, outcomes, and the experience of people affected by cancer.”
