The Kidney Cancer Association (KCA) has appointed Eric A. Singer, MD, MA, MS, FACS, FASCO, of The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC), as Chair of the Board of Directors. His appointment was confirmed by the board during its November 2025 meeting.
Dr. Singer succeeds Dr. Bradley C. Leibovich of the Mayo Clinic, who served as Chair from 2021 and will assume the role of Transitioning Chair Emeritus for the coming year.
Involvement with KCA
Dr. Singer has previously served on the Scientific Planning Committee for the KCA’s International Kidney Cancer Symposiums and has been a member of the Medical Steering Committee since 2022. His work with the organization includes participation in mentorship programs and patient education initiatives.
Professional Background
Dr. Singer holds the Dave Lonaberger Endowed Chair in Urology, and is Professor of Urology and Bioethics, Chief of the Division of Urologic Oncology, and Director of the Urologic Oncology Fellowship at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center.
His research focuses on developing treatments for genitourinary malignancies through clinical trials. His professional interests also include bioethics, with an emphasis on informed consent, decision-making capacity, research ethics, and surgical ethics.
Board Transition
Dr. Singer succeeds Dr. Bradley C. Leibovich, who previously led the board. Dr. Leibovich will continue to be involved as Transitioning Chair Emeritus.
