Pleased to Announce Professor Mariam Jamal-Hanjani as New Chief Clinician! – CRUK

“We’re pleased to announce Professor Mariam Jamal-Hanjani as our new Chief Clinician! 

As our senior clinical research advisor, the chief clinician combines clinical research leadership with specialist scientific advice to help us further our goal of beating cancer.

Mariam is Professor of Cancer Genomics and Metastasis at UCL Cancer Institute.

She’s led on recent key research initiatives like TRACERx, TRACERx EVO, the PEACE research autopsy programme, and the first in-human LungVax lung cancer prevention vaccine trial.

Mariam succeeds Professor Charles Swanton in the role, who’s provided essential scientific and clinical leadership to Cancer Research UK for the last nine years – thank you, Charlie, for your vital support of our mission.
