Chinenye Ogbogu Anetekhai: Honored and Grateful – Receiving Four Nursing Star Awards from My Students
Chinenye Ogbogu Anetekhai, Senior Lecturer at Birmingham City University, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Feeling Honoured, Grateful, and Inspired.
Waking up to receive four Nursing Star Awards from my students fills me with immense gratitude and joy, reinforcing my commitment to the profession I hold dear. Teaching is not just a profession for me – it’s a calling. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see amazing Birmingham City University Nursing students going the extra mile to recognize my passion and dedication. These moments fuel my commitment to shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.
I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to my teachers and mentors: Prof. Agnes Anarado, Prof. Ijeoma Okoronkwo, Prof. Ada Nwaneri (whose death I still mourn), Dr. Eunice Nwonu, Prof. Joseph Osuji, Dr. Jane Onyiapat, Jim Chapman, Dr. Andrea Page and Prof. Marcia Wilson. I am also grateful to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, for nurturing my growth as both a nurse and an educator.
I am deeply grateful to the countless learners who have enriched my experience and the parents/families who entrust us with the vital task of educating and nurturing the next generation of healthcare leaders. It is a privilege to contribute to this noble endeavor. Teaching and burn care have become my life – and I love them! Indeed, we are nothing but pencils in the hands of the Creator.
To every educator out there: Keep inspiring, keep pushing boundaries, and keep making a difference.”
