Bo Wang, Co-Founder & Chief AI Scientist at Xaira Therapeutics, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Proud to share that I’ve been promoted to Chief AI Scientist at Xaira Therapeutics.
The work that got us here: building X-Cell, Xaira’s first virtual cell model, and wiring AI agents across the full drug discovery stack. The goal has always been the same, not AI as a tool layered on top of biology, but AI and biology as one integrated system.
A lot of people made this possible. Huge congrats to Ci Chu on his well-earned promotion to Chief Discovery Officer – his team’s high-throughput biology work is what gives X-Cell a real signal to learn from. And welcome to Ian McCaffery, who joins us from AbbVie to lead translational science and early clinical development. Exactly the kind of bench-to-patient bridge we need as Xaira’s pipeline matures.
The honest version of what I’m most excited about: we’re still early. Virtual cells that can predict how a perturbation propagates through a biological system – not just correlate with an outcome: that’s still an open problem. We’re working on it every day.
