Alexandre Chan, President Elect of The Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC), Associate Editor-in-Chief at Supportive Care in Cancer, shared on LinkedIn:
“After six and a half of the most meaningful years of my career, I’m sharing some bittersweet news.
I voluntarily stepped down as Department Chair for Clinical Pharmacy Practice at the end of June, and starting in August, I’ll stay on at the UC Irvine School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences as a faculty member at reduced time.
Looking back, it has been a true privilege to build a home for pharmacy faculty within a brand-new public pharmacy school in the University of California system – all from the ground up. It remains one of the greatest honors of my career, and I am deeply humbled to have been part of it.
There are so many people I want to thank. I’m especially grateful to Dean Jan Hirsch, for her trust in me from the very beginning; Associate Deans Sarah McBane, Megan H. Nguyen, and Melanie Joe and PharmSci Department Chair Brian Paegel for their partnership, and all the faculty, colleagues, students, and staff I’ve had the privilege of working alongside over the years.
This was one of the hardest decisions I’ve made, and that’s because the work meant so much to me. I am excited for the continued success of DCPP under our new Interim Chair, Dr. Lee Nguyen.
Thank you, everyone, for the many send-offs in June. Grateful to always be part of the Anteater family.”
