Afreen Shariff, Chair of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Honored to step into a new role as the next Chair of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) – ASPIRE Community of Practice (CoP) alongside my amazing partner Dr. Kriti Mittal (UMass Boston).
We have big shoes to fill following the leadership of Dr. Kerry Reynolds and Dr. Eric Roeland, MD, both of whom have been inspiring and visionary in shaping this community.
ASPIRE – the Alliance for the Support and Prevention of Immune-Related Adverse Events – is an ASCO Community of Practice dedicated to advancing care, research, and education around immune-related adverse events (irAEs) in cancer immunotherapy.Since its launch in 2025, ASPIRE has become a collaborative platform for clinicians, researchers, and stakeholders to connect through ASCO’s myConnection platform and in-person at the annual ASCO meeting.
Looking forward to building on this strong foundation and working with our community to innovate, educate, and improve outcomes for patients navigating immunotherapy toxicities.”
