Kimia Sorouri: The past 2 years immersed in the Harvard University ecosystem has been one of the most rewarding and unexpected experiences of my career.

On LinkedIn, Kimia Sorouri, Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School, stated:

“The past 2 years immersed in the Harvard University ecosystem have been one of the most rewarding and unexpected experiences of my career.

What began as a one-year Master of Public Health program at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in clinical epidemiology became so much more than I could have ever anticipated. The chance to cross-register for courses at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, attend seminars and talks at the Institute of Politics at Harvard Kennedy School on real-time public health challenges, and explore the impact we can make as healthcare providers beyond clinical work through conferences and courses at the Harvard Business School have left an indelible mark on my perspective and aspirations as a physician. These experiences have underscored the vast potential we possess as healthcare providers to drive impactful change far beyond the clinical setting.

But what has truly made this journey so enjoyable are the people. Whether in classes at Kresge, Nucleate mixers, MIT GrandHack23, events hosted by the GSAS Harvard Biotech Club, or chance encounters in the library, the brilliant minds, kind hearts, and unwavering support of those around me have turned colleagues and mentors into lifelong friends and sources of endless inspiration.

Collectively, these past 2 years will impact my career in ways that I cannot even begin to anticipate right now – and I am so excited to see where this all leads me! Thank you to my friends, classmates, professors, and mentors for making me feel so at home in Boston.

For now, back to the wards!”
