Zhiheng Xu: Janet Woodcock is an iconic figure at the FDA
Zhiheng Xu, Lead Mathematical Statistician at CDER, FDA, shared on LinkedIn:
“Janet Woodcock is an iconic figure at the FDA. For the nearly four decades, she has served as acting FDA commissioner, deputy commissioner, and CDER director, among other roles.
She is the face behind numerous drug approval decisions at the agency since the turn of the century, as highlighted by Zachary Brennan at Endpoints News.
She serves as a role model for many within the Agency, earning admiration for her commitment and leadership.
This is evident as a testament to the numerous individuals eager to capture moments with her at her retirement celebration today, including me.
As Ellen Sigal at Friends of Cancer Research said, Janet’s impact on the FDA, the medical community, and countless lives will resonate for generations to come.
Wishing you a joyous and fulfilling retirement, Janet.”
