Dr. Mijin Kim selected as a 2023 STAT Wunderkind – Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center shared on LinkedIn:
“Congratulations to Dr. Mijin Kim, a former postdoc in the Daniel Heller lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, for being selected as a 2023 STAT Wunderkind! The award recognizes the work of early-career scientists and clinicians. In 2021, Dr. Kim was also the Kravis WiSE Postdoctoral Fellowship winner, which promotes gender equity in science.
Her path to MSK wasn’t linear and has taken her to places she had never envisioned for herself.
‘I really started from scratch,” Dr. Kim says. “My background is in physical chemistry. But [Dr. Heller and I] thought my research could be potentially useful for cancer research and diagnosis. I saw the great research being done and knew I really wanted to be a part of MSK.’
Dr. Kim is now an incoming assistant professor at Georgia Institute of Technology, and we wish her all the best in her next endeavors. Thank you for your invaluable contributions to MSK, Dr. Kim!”
