Thierry Facon receives the Jan Waldenstrom Lifetime Achievement Award
Dr. Thierry Facon is a Professor of Hematology at Lille University Hospital in France and an honorary professor at the Institute of Hematology and Blood Diseases Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Peking Union Medical College, China.
He is a member of the American Society of Hematology (ASH), the International Myeloma Working Group (IMWG), and the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF), and a founding member and administrator of the French Foundation for Research Against Myeloma and Gammaopathies (FFRMG).
Thierry Facon has been named Jan Waldenstrom Lifetime Achievement Awardee.
Named after blood cancer pioneer Jan Waldenström, the Waldenström Lifetime Achievement Award has been presented by the International Myeloma Society at every International Myeloma Workshop since 1989. It honors researchers for their long-term contributions to the field of myeloma.
On this occasion, Vincent Rajkumar, Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, shared a post on X:
“Dr. Thierry Facon receives the Jan Waldenstrom Lifetime Achievement Award for his numerous contributions to myeloma.
Thierry led some of the most impactful myeloma trials ever, including FIRST, MAIA, and IMROZ.
