Amber Brooks appointed as Vice Dean of Strategic Initiatives at Wake Forest University School of Medicine

Recently, Amber Brooks has been promoted to Vice Dean of Strategic Initiatives at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

Dr. Amber Brooks is the Vice Chair of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the Department of Anesthesiology at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. She also serves as the Justice Thread Director at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

Amber Brooks shared a post on LinkedIn:

“This week I begin a new chapter as Vice Dean of Strategic Initiatives at Wake Forest University School of Medicine! I am excited to join the team. I accepted this position for three reasons:

  • Alignment with the institution’s strategic goals to advance our progress towards becoming a leading Academic Learning Health System.
  • Purpose and Impact-I’ll be doing what I love: helping senior leaders connect the dots, identifying opportunities for collaboration, and dreaming and executing for big impact.
  • Timing: Successes and lessons learned have prepared me for such a time as this.

Thank you Dean Ebony Boulware for the opportunity to serve in this capacity!

Onward and Upward!”

On this occasion, doctors have been congratulating Amber Brooks:

Ebony Boulware, Dean at Wake Forest University School of Medicine:

“I am thrilled Dr. Amber Brooks will join Wake Forest University School of Medicine’s senior leadership team! She will bring her skills as an outstanding clinician, researcher, mentor, community servant, and equity champion to lead our school onward and upward!”

Robert Hurley, Professor at Wake Forest University School of Medicine:

“Congratulations to Amber Brooks, MD MS on her promotion in the Wake Forest University School of Medicine to Vice Dean for Strategy. We (Pain and Spine Specialists of Atrium Health-Wake Forest Baptist) are so proud of our colleague.

Amber is going to continue her expert role in clinical care and the pain research program (her own and her participation in NIH HEAL IMPOWR IDEA-CC lead by Meredith Adams MD, MS, FASA, FAMIA). As Amber says, onward and upward!”
