Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu Highlights Launch of Nigeria’s National Cervical Cancer Elimination Partnership
Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, UICC President-Elect of 2024-2026 and a Founder of the Medicaid Cancer Foundation, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Today, Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu joined the official launching of the Partnership to Eliminate Cervical Cancer in Nigeria at the State House.
This initiative, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare Nigeria and the National Taskforce on Cervical Cancer Elimination (NTF-CCE), underscores a united national effort to combat cervical cancer.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, World Health Organization Director-General, for his unwavering leadership in the global fight against cervical cancer. Also i acknowledge the invaluable support of other global partners, including the Unitaid, Gates Foundation, UNICEF and many others, whose collective commitments have significantly advanced the global strategy for cervical cancer elimination.
These combined global and national efforts signify a renewed commitment to safeguarding women’s health and working towards a future free from cervical cancer.”
Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu highlighted the official launch of Nigeria’s national partnership to eliminate cervical cancer, recognizing the contributions of international and local stakeholders in advancing this critical public health initiative.
