Yüksel Ürün: Cancer could double by 2070
Yüksel Ürün, Medical Oncology professor at Ankara University School of Medicine in Turkey, posted on X:
“Cancer could double by 2070, with the largest rise in low-HDI countries. Prevention strategies targeting smoking, obesity, and HPV are urgent to avert millions of cases.”
Matt Sagan, of FiBioMed, shared this post on X, adding:
“Yes, key factors here will be Early Detection, Prevention and affordable low cost drugs treatments.
I can see few opportunities here:
HPV self sampling (at home) and large scale low cost screening.
Cancer Vaccines – they don’t cost millions to make or to reimburse.”
