Yin Ling Woo: Reflecting on the ‘WHY’ and ‘HOW’ Program ROSE and ROSE Foundation began
Yin Ling Woo, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at University of Malaya, posted on LinkedIn:
“Reflecting on the ‘WHY’ and ‘HOW’ Program ROSE and ROSE Foundation began.
Last week, I had a window of opportunity to visit the small but growing team at ROSE Foundation. There were a few new faces.
I took the opportunity to share with them the ‘why and how’ pilot project ROSE became Program ROSE. I wanted to share with the new and remind the not-so-new members the essence and heart of ROSE. During the process, I dug out old newspaper cuttings, photos, concepts that were developed at the back of rough papers and simply recalled the many who helped make Program ROSE a reality.
The purpose and vision of Program ROSE remains the same… which is to ensure women do not suffer and die from cervical cancer. And it was a timely reminder that the ‘life and heart’ of the program lies in each and everyone who has been and is part of it.”
