Commemorating World No Tobacco Day 2025: Walking Towards a Smoke Free Future – CARIG
CARIG shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Commemorating World No Tobacco Day 2025: Walking Towards a Smoke Free Future.
Every year on May 31st, the world observes World No Tobacco Day, a vital moment to spotlight the health risks of tobacco use and to strengthen efforts in prevention and control.
This year, the Cancer Awareness and Research Impact Group (CARIG) is honored to join forces with the Youth Arm of the Nigerian Cancer Society (YOCAC) and the Federal Ministry of Youth Development in the Smoke Free Future campaign – a nationwide walk and advocacy initiative focused on educating the public, especially young people, about the dangers of tobacco smoking.
Tobacco use is a major risk factor for numerous cancers, most notably lung cancer, and continues to claim millions of lives globally. Through this campaign, we aim to amplify youth voices, promote healthier lifestyles, and move one step closer to a cancer-free Nigeria.
Join us. Support the cause. Be part of the Smoke Free Future campaign.”
