Winan van Houdt: Bi-annual meeting of the soft tissue and bone sarcoma group of the EORTC
Winan van Houdt, Surgical Oncologist at Antoni van Leeuwenhoek/Netherlands Cancer Institute, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Bi-annual meeting of the soft tissue and bone sarcoma group (STBSG) of the EORTC – European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer at the University in the beautiful city of Torino, Italy.
We continued discussing new directions and trial ideas for sarcoma research, but also the challenges we face due to the lack of funding resources and pharma support for rare cancers like sarcoma. Also updating the group about the progress we make with our global trial in retroperitoneal sarcoma STRASS2/STREXIT2.
An inspiring program of high quality, thanks to local hosts Lorenzo D’Ambrosio and Alessandra Merlini, the secretary of the group Sylvia Stacchiotti, and all the speakers. As the chair of the group, I am grateful to have these amazing colleagues around me to lead this group together.
And we said goodbye to Laura de Meulemeester, for all her work for the STBSG in the last 7 years now that she is leaving us for a new challenge.”
