Wafaa M Rashed: U.S. MAHA Report Lacks Scientific Insight on Childhood Cancer
Wafaa M Rashed, Faculty Lecturer of pharmacy at Ahram Canadian University, shared Childhood Cancer and Leukemia International Consortium (CLIC)’s post on LinkedIn, adding:
“The MAHA Report has been released by the U.S. government, addressing chronic disease in children—including childhood cancer.
Where Is the Science on Childhood Cancer?
The recently released Make Our Children Healthy Again (MAHA) Report raises important concerns about childhood chronic disease—but when it comes to childhood cancer, the silence on science is deafening.
The report notes a rise in childhood cancer incidence…
- But offers no section on the causes.
- No mention of genetic risk factors.
- No inclusion of molecular or epidemiological research.
- No reference to decades of global scientific data on childhood cancer causation.
As a childhood cancer advocate and researcher, I stand with CLIC, the world’s largest consortium of scientists focused on childhood cancer causation, as they prepare an evidence-based response.
This is not just about critique—this is about protecting scientific integrity and ensuring that policies affecting children’s lives are driven by facts, not assumptions.
Children deserve better. childhood cancer deserves more than soundbites.
Let’s build solutions on science, not speculation.
Stay tuned for updates—and let’s continue pushing for truthful, transparent, and equitable care.”
Childhood Cancer and Leukemia International Consortium (CLIC) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Out Now – The US Make Our Children Healthy Again Assessment
The U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., released the first Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Report that describes the state of chronic diseases among children, including childhood cancer.
CLIC, as a group of active experts on childhood cancer, is preparing to respond in the next few weeks to the claims made in this statement. We will look critically at the reported statistics, causes, and issues raised about childhood cancer and publish our response soon.
Read the official MAHA Report.”
